London is set for a new open-air venue that will hold one-off events and festivals.<\/p>\n
Event management company Broadwick Live has unveiled the new venue, Dockyards, which is a 400,000-square-foot space on the bank of the River Thames.<\/p>\n
Dockyards will be based right next to London City Airport and is due to run events all year round.<\/p>\n
The venue overlooks the iconic river in Silvertown Quays and will be used for music and cultural events, as well as being made available as a space to film and for brand experiences.<\/p>\n
Dockyards\u2019 first event will be Defected London, a music festival dedicated to the house genre, which is set to take place on September 3-4.<\/p>\n
Defected will be followed up by another festival just one week later. Above & Beyond Group Therapy Weekender is a music, arts and culture festival that will take place on September 10-11.<\/p>\n
Broadwick Live group managing director, Bradley Thompson, said: \u201cWe\u2019re really excited to open Dockyards, creating a new centre of cultural gravity for London in the heart of The Royal Docks.<\/p>\n

Broadwick Live-owned venue operator Venue Lab is also opening a new venue in Royal Docks next month.<\/p>\n
The new indoor venue, The Beams, will boast a capacity of 5,000 people and can be used for filming, music, cultural events, photo shoots, set builds, exhibitions and fashion shows.<\/p>\n
