The Government of Japan has eased the 10,000-spectator attendance limit for large-scale events.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The regulations were in place in 27 of Japan\u2019s 47 prefectures to limit the spread of COVID-19 within the country, and professional sports games and concerts will now be able to accept more than 10,000 spectators in Tokyo and other parts of Japan.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Events across the country can now admit either 50% capacity or 5,000 people, while large-scale events can now welcome more than 10,000 spectators in Tokyo. The 50% capacity limit is for events that would normally have spectators shouting and cheering.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to Kyodo News<\/a>, the Government will decide on a case-by-case basis whether or not an event is likely to involve shouting and cheering from the crowd.\u00a0<\/p>\n On November 3, Japan registered 265 positive coronavirus cases across the country, and has recorded 1.72 million<\/a> cases altogether.\u00a0<\/p>\n In May this year, Japan\u2019s top concert promoters came together to form an alliance<\/a> that will aid the return of live events in the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n The International Promoters Alliance Japan (IPAJ) will feature 10 members of the All Japan Concert and Live Entertainment Promoters Conference.
