Wembley Stadium has announced a partnership with blockchain mobile ticketing solution, Tixngo.<\/p>\n
Starting this summer, the 90,000-capacity stadium will deliver digital tickets through a new Wembley-branded wallet, which will be powered by Secutix solution Tixngo.<\/p>\n
The London stadium will launch the solution for Ed Sheeran\u2019s five nights at Wembley, with the British artist\u2019s shows beginning\u00a0 on June 24.<\/p>\n
Tixngo uses blockchain technology to create a unique, encrypted ticket for smartphones that is verified, which removes the risk of counterfeit tickets. Wembley ticket holders will be able to download, transfer, keep or assign a ticket to a guest by using the wallet.<\/p>\n
Paul Smyth, head of event operations at Wembley Stadium, said: \u201cWe wanted a cutting edge secure mobile solution which could service all of our different types of events, both sporting and non-sporting ones. Tixngo provides us with exactly this, creating a safe and seamless ticketing experience for all fans.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tixngo is utilised by a number of stadiums and events including the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam, the Stade de France in Paris and was also deployed at scale by UEFA for the postponed Euro 2020<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n David Hornby, Tixngo UK managing director, added: \u201cIntegrating ticketing with the wider digital ecosystem has become a critical part of achieving a stadium\u2019s digital ambitions.
