Live Nation\u2019s Concerts team has introduced a paid internship scheme with the aim of boosting equitable opportunities and building a more diverse team.<\/p>\n
There is a demand to work in live music, as shown by the 15,000 applications for 50 openings received for the college internship program.<\/p>\n
The entertainment giant revealed that a mixture of college students and recent graduates had been selected to participate in the program, with all 50 positions now filled.<\/p>\n
Interns will work in various departments across Live Nation\u2019s US concerts division, including talent, marketing, business development, accounting, booking, creative production, as well as strategy and analytics.<\/p>\n
The program runs between 12 and 16 weeks depending on education schedules and responsibilities of specific roles. This year Live Nation welcomed a mixture of college students, graduate students and graduates of 2020 and 2021, as these students had fewer opportunities for internships due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
Candidates were selected from more than 40 colleges and universities and will work in US cities such as Los Angeles, Nashville, Philadelphia, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston and more.<\/p>\n
Live Nation\u2019s president of touring Omar Al-joulani said: \u201cMoving to a paid internship program is an important step that allows us to keep bringing in the best candidates \u2013 not just the ones that can afford to intern for school credit.<\/p>\n
