Ahead of the CAF Champions League final last night (Monday), Egyptian Premier League team Al Ahly issued a complaint against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) surrounding the ticketing process.<\/p>\n
Al Ahly ultimately lost the final to Morocco\u2019s Botolo Pro 1 side Wydad Casablanca 2-0, with two goals from Zouheir El Moutaraji.<\/p>\n
However, the build-up to the game was marred by controversy, as the final was played at Wydad\u2019s home ground, the 67,000-capacity Stade Mohammed V (pictured). This was coupled with ticketing issues, with Al Ahly claiming the club did not receive over 2,500 of its 10,000 ticket allocation.<\/p>\n
A statement from the Egyptian club also revealed that purchasing tickets online was only allowed for Moroccan fans.<\/p>\n
Before the match yesterday, Al Ahly said in a statement: \u201cAl Ahly sent a letter on Sunday to CAF regarding some issues related to the organisational process of the CAF Champions League final, scheduled on Monday night.<\/p>\n
\u201cAl Ahly\u2019s letter to CAF highlighted that CAF did not respond to our demands particularly with regard to the distribution of the CAF Champions League final tickets.<\/p>\n
