{"id":176,"date":"2021-11-10T01:28:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-10T09:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2021\/11\/10\/people-on-the-move-uk-theatre-logitix-and-more\/"},"modified":"2021-11-10T01:28:00","modified_gmt":"2021-11-10T09:28:00","slug":"people-on-the-move-uk-theatre-logitix-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2021\/11\/10\/people-on-the-move-uk-theatre-logitix-and-more\/","title":{"rendered":"People on the move: UK Theatre, Logitix and more\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>We round up the latest movements from the ticketing sector and associated industries\u2026<\/p>\n<p>UK Theatre, a theatre and performing arts membership organisation, has announced that it has appointed joint presidents for the first time in its history.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stephanie Sirr\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Jon Gilchrist\u00a0<\/strong>will be joint presidents for a three-year term, and currently serve as the president and interim vice-president, respectively. This is due to current UK Theatre president Fiona Allan stepping down, as she is leaving the Birmingham Hippodrome for a new role at Opera Australia.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sirr automatically assumed the role of president as she was already vice-president and Gilchrist became interim vice-president. The pair will become joint presidents from the 2022 annual general meeting (AGM).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sirr has been chief executive of Nottingham Playhouse since 2001 while Gilchrist is the executive director of HOME, a multi-arts venue in Manchester.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a joint statement, Gilchrist and Sirr said: \u201cWe are delighted to be taking up the roles of joint presidents in order to continue the work of recent years to deliver an organisation that really supports our industry in its time of greatest need.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a significant amount of work to be done to continue to move the sector forward and as joint presidents we will be better able to deliver this alongside also running venues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition, as joint presidents we underline the commitment of UK Theatre to job sharing and improving the industry\u2019s flexibility as employers. Finally, because the interests of both producing and presenting houses will be fully represented by us, we believe that at this critical time our combined approach will assist the sector in its recovery from the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA shared leadership will enable us to focus on a wider range of priorities, and to better reflect the needs of the membership. We are also committed to building a UK Theatre board that is more reflective of all areas of the industry. Over our term we look forward to working with the team at UK Theatre to build on the constitutional changes in place to diversify the board and positions of power.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Colombian ticketing company Tuboleta has brought in\u00a0<strong>Sofia Higuera<\/strong>\u00a0(pictured left) as part of the general management team.<\/p>\n<p>Higuera will hold the responsibility of maintaining the company and developing new strategies, focusing on digital transformation and exploring new business opportunities. She said: \u201cMy goal is to keep Tuboleta as the benchmark in the ticketing industry and accelerate its technological transformation process with the aim of innovating and facing what the digital world means today.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The announcement follows the announcement that Hernando S\u00e1nchez Gil was leaving the management of the company after 21 with Tuboleta.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To read the full story, click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2021\/11\/05\/tuboleta-welcomes-new-management-addition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, and\u00a0<strong>Joseph Mason\u00a0<\/strong>has joined Live Nation Middle East as customer experience manager after almost five years with Dubai Opera.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mason wrote on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:6861765237721436161\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LinkedIn<\/a>: \u201cFarewell #DubaiOpera; a home to me in so many ways. Thrilling performances in a stunning venue, brought to life by an incredible team, who over the years have achieved so much for so many, under unprecedented circumstances.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKeep the stage lights shining, the customers smiling, and the gold dust shimmering.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen one auditorium door closes, another one always opens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Live event ticketing technology and analytics provider Logistic has made a series of new appointments and promotions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Greg Nortman<\/strong>\u00a0(pictured right) has been promoted to president of Logitix and\u00a0<strong>Chris Zaber<\/strong>\u00a0has come in as the new EVP of business development and boasts more than 20 years of ticket sales experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Logitix has also made several moves at vice-president level, with\u00a0<strong>Jaclyn Ross\u00a0<\/strong>becoming vice-president of operations,\u00a0<strong>Stephanie Miller<\/strong>\u00a0being promoted to vice-president of list services and\u00a0<strong>Travis Underwood\u00a0<\/strong>being made the vice-president of partnerships.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jon-Thomas Louviere<\/strong>\u00a0has also been brought in as the vice-president of strategy and innovation for Logitix.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stuart Halberg, chief executive of Logitix, said: \u201cWith these promotions and new hires, we continue to build an all-star team at Logitix.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sports and leisure system and application developer Sports Fusion has also announced a reshuffle.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Robert Spalton<\/strong>\u00a0has been promoted to the newly created role of managing director from December 1, with\u00a0<strong>Molly Haskins<\/strong>\u00a0becoming director of operations.\u00a0<strong>Andrew Flakey<\/strong>\u00a0has joined Sports Fusion as director of development from ticketing specialist consultancy Holistix.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Co-founders of Sports Fusion Chris Thomas and Jeremy Kerner said: \u201cWe are absolutely delighted to have developed our own top class talent and it\u2019s of how good Rob and Molly are, that we have been able to attract Andrew, on of the very best people in sports technology generally and ticketing in particular.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Do you have news of an appointment that we should know about?
