Sir Elton John is set to entertain fans at BST Hyde Park this Friday, with the added power of augmented reality in partnership with telecommunications giant, Vodafone.<\/p>\n
As part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, Sir Elton will perform one of his most iconic songs at the festival, \u2018I\u2019m Still Standing\u2019, to pay tribute to the NHS and other frontline workers throughout the pandemic.<\/p>\n
The London event will be the first BST Hyde Park to take place in three years, and will utilise AR technology to bring Sir Elton closer to the fans. Time-synced 3D imagery will tell the story of the unrelenting support from key workers during the pandemic and the nation\u2019s resilience. A miniature Elton John (pictured) will also be brought to life through AR.<\/p>\n
Fans will need to download the \u2018Elton John x Vodafone\u2019 app, then point their phone camera at the stage throughout the performance in order to enjoy the experience. The app is available to download on iOS and Android from today (Monday).<\/p>\n
Vodafone and Sir Elton are also running a prize draw to offer NHS workers the chance to win exclusive ticket access to the sold-out show.<\/p>\n
