{"id":1783,"date":"2022-06-22T01:20:23","date_gmt":"2022-06-22T08:20:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2022\/06\/22\/people-on-the-move-society-of-london-theatre-uk-theatre-and-more\/"},"modified":"2022-06-22T01:20:23","modified_gmt":"2022-06-22T08:20:23","slug":"people-on-the-move-society-of-london-theatre-uk-theatre-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2022\/06\/22\/people-on-the-move-society-of-london-theatre-uk-theatre-and-more\/","title":{"rendered":"People on the move: Society of London Theatre &#038; UK Theatre and more\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>We round up the latest movements from the ticketing sector and associated industries\u2026<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Claire Walker<\/b> (pictured left) and <b>Hannah Essex<\/b> (pictured right) have been appointed joint chief executives of the Society of London Theatre (SOLT) and UK Theatre.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Walker and Essex are currently co-executive directors at the British Chambers of Commerce and have over 40 years of combined experience as senior leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to their role with the British Chambers of Commerce, Walker and Essex were co-directors of communication for Teach First.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Eleanor Lloyd, president of SOLT, said: \u201cI am delighted to welcome Claire and Hannah as the co-CEOs of SOLT and UK Theatre.\u00a0They are inspirational leaders who will bring an outstanding combination of experience, dynamism and passion to both organisations. Their work at the British Chambers of Commerce, especially during the pandemic, puts them in a perfect position to support our members and champion the theatre industry in this new chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Walker and Essex have been appointed as joint CEOs following the planned departure of <b>Julian Bird<\/b>. They will take up their new roles on September 12.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Stephanie Sirr MBE, president of UK Theatre, added: \u201cAt this critical juncture for our industry, we are thrilled to be welcoming Claire and Hannah as our new chief executives.\u00a0Not only are they hugely experienced with an exceptional track record of delivery, but they are also truly passionate about our sector and its importance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ticket Solutions, an event distribution company, has hired <b>Calleagh Darby<\/b> as director of partnerships.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Darby will focus on nurturing new and existing partnerships to drive company growth.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Clay Discher, chief revenue officer at Ticket Solutions, said: \u201cCalleagh brings a wealth of knowledge, dedication, and experience to the partnerships team. With her extensive background and network in college athletics, she will undoubtedly contribute to our company growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, ticketing, marketing and experience technology platform Eventbrite has elected <b>April Underwood<\/b> to the company\u2019s Board of Directors.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Underwood will join the board as a class one director, and has an extensive background in technology. Currently, she is the co-founder of #ANGELS, an investing collective focused on helping to grow technology start-ups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cApril\u2019s credentials and accomplishments throughout her career in advising technology companies on both product and strategy development make her an invaluable addition to our board of directors,\u201d said Julia Hartz, CEO and co-founder of Eventbrite. \u201cHer experience in working with some of the world\u2019s largest companies, supporting and investing in technology\u2019s newest startups is going to greatly impact our community of creators and further accelerate Eventbrite\u2019s success.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>Do you have news of an appointment that we should know about?
