We round up the latest movements from the ticketing sector and associated industries\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Tix Ticketing has announced Patrick Morsman<\/b>\u00a0(pictured left) has joined the ticketing software provider as sales and operations manager for UK & Ireland.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Morsman has joined Tix Ticketing from Yesplan, a venue and event management provider, where he managed sales for the UK market. He has over 20 years of experience in the ticketing and events industries. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He has also previously held roles with Vivaticket, Tessitura Network and Tickets(.com).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Hrefna Sif Jonsdottir, chief operating officer at Tix Ticketing, said: \u201cWe are extremely happy and excited to have Patrick join the Tix Ticketing team. With his vast experience in sales and especially in the cultural event industry, both in ticketing and other areas, I am certain he will bring valuable experience and be a great fit for our team.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cTix has been growing fast in recent years and we are excited to grow our UK market even further.\u201d<\/p>\n Concert promoter AEG Presents has appointed Milan Rokic <\/b>as senior vice-president of AEG Presents Asia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Rokic will be responsible for leading the AEG Presents Asia team in acquiring and implementing touring business for properties in music, sports and festivals. He will report to Adam Wilkes, president and chief executive of AEG Presents Asia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Prior to joining AEG, Rokic had founded his own live entertainment company, Sliding Doors Entertainment. He has also held roles with BASE Entertainment and Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Rokic said: \u201cI am thrilled to join the AEG team in Asia at this exciting time.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are expanding our team, actively pursuing new tours, and building a business that will rapidly grow across the territory.\u201d<\/p>\n The Association of Independent Festivals (AIF) has appointed Notting Hill Carnival chief executive Mathew Phillip<\/b>\u00a0(pictured right) as its new chair.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Phillip is also CEO of Carnival Village Trust, which is dedicated to supporting and delivering an integrated programme of Carnival arts in London, and the managing director of Mangrove Carnival Arts CIC, which encompasses one of the oldest steel bands in the UK.<\/p>\n He succeeds Jim Mawdsley<\/b> after seven years at the helm. Philip started his new role at the beginning of June.<\/p>\n AIF CEO Paul Reed said: \u201cFollowing a robust search for the right candidate, I\u2019m delighted to welcome Matthew as the new Chair of AIF.\u00a0Matthew brings a wealth of relevant experience in governance and leadership as the CEO of the globally renowned Notting Hill Carnival, among other important roles.\u201d<\/p>\n Elsewhere, Manchester International Festival has appointed three new board members.<\/p>\n Freelance arts and media consultant and former director of arts at the BBC, Lamia Dabboussy<\/b>, has joined the board, while Laura Jordan-Bamback<\/b> has also take on the new position. She is the president and chief creative officer at advertising agency Grey. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Architectural designer and Young People\u2019s Forum representative Faz Barber<\/b> has also joined the board. Barber has sat on the Manchester International Festival\u2019s Young People Forum since 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers (STAR) has announced members elected or re-elected to the STAR Council.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n James Broderick<\/strong>, head of ticket sales, Sadler\u2019s Wells Theatre; Andrew Collier<\/strong>, creative director, Family Tickets and Minor Entertainment Group; Pauline Fallowell<\/strong>, director of marketing and audience insight, London Theatre Company, Bridge Theatre; Keith Kelly<\/strong>, head of ticketing and Quaytickets, The Lowry and Rebecca Molloy<\/strong>, head of ticketing and audience insight at Bristol Old Vic Theatre, have all be elected or re-elected for a three year term.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Do you have news of an appointment that we should know about?
