The Rugby League World Cup 2021 has revealed that a record breaking crowd will enjoy a women\u2019s double header at Headingley, with over 5,000 tickets sold for the event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This year\u2019s tournament will encompass the men\u2019s, women\u2019s and wheelchair competitions simultaneously for the first time. It is part of an effort to grow the sport, particularly the women\u2019s and wheelchair games.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The excitement building around women\u2019s rugby league has been made evident by the sales for the double header, which will open the women\u2019s tournament. England will take on Brazil first followed by Papua New Guinea vs Canada at Headingley on November 1.<\/p>\n The Rugby League World Cup was postponed last year due to complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Following the postponement of the tournament last year, organisers outlined two refund windows, or allowed fans to roll over tickets to the tournament this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The men\u2019s Rugby League World Cup will kick off October 15, while the women\u2019s tournament starts later but concludes with a double header alongside the men at Old Trafford in Manchester on November 19.
