Switzerland\u2019s Pal\u00e9o Festival is offering digital tickets for the first time in 2022 after teaming up with mobile ticketing solution Tixngo.<\/p>\n
The partnership will see the biggest open-air festival in Switzerland securely deliver 189,000 digital tickets through a new Pal\u00e9o-branded ticket wallet, powered by Tixngo, a division of Secutix.<\/p>\n
The solution helps tackle fraud by creating a unique, encrypted and fully traceable ticket for smartphones that is verified, removing the risk of counterfeit tickets. It also allows those attending the Nyon-based festival to easily control their tickets as they can securely download, transfer, keep, or assign a ticket to a guest at any point through the wallet.<\/p>\n
Pal\u00e9o Festival, which began earlier this week and runs until July 24, returns in 2022 after a three-year absence due to pandemic restrictions. Headliners include Sting, Kiss and Rag N Bone Man.<\/p>\n
A Pal\u00e9o spokesperson said: \u201cDespite being the biggest outdoor festival in Switzerland, at its core Pal\u00e9o is more like a family, taking care to ensure that all their visitors have the best festival experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe new ticketing solution is helping to achieve this as visitors are being reached through push notifications within the app. As only digital tickets have been distributed, everyone received the messages before the event and continue to do so during it. In addition, questionnaires will be shared to give a voice to the crowd and make sure that Pal\u00e9o is not just one festival people visit, but that it feels like their own festival which they can help shape for future years.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy digitalising its audience, the new wallet will allow Pal\u00e9o to become increasingly data-led, providing it with deeper insights into the behaviour of its visitors. Ultimately, it will help the festival organisers connect better with their audiences through data collection and communication within the wallet.\u201d<\/p>\n
Organisers said digital tickets are also making this year\u2019s festival more environmentally friendly. Pal\u00e9o\u2019s ambition is to reduce their carbon footprint by 25% in time for their 50th festival, in 2028.<\/p>\n
