{"id":2149,"date":"2022-08-05T06:25:05","date_gmt":"2022-08-05T13:25:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2022\/08\/05\/troubles-continue-for-events-start-up-pollen\/"},"modified":"2022-08-05T06:25:05","modified_gmt":"2022-08-05T13:25:05","slug":"troubles-continue-for-events-start-up-pollen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2022\/08\/05\/troubles-continue-for-events-start-up-pollen\/","title":{"rendered":"Troubles continue for events start-up Pollen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Workers at events start-up Pollen have revealed that there is still no update from the company\u2019s chief executive over pay or a proposed deal with a new partner.<\/p>\n<p>Engineer writer Gergely Orosz has claimed multiple insights into the situation at Pollen, which has been deteriorating over the last few months.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In May, Pollen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2022\/06\/01\/pollen-lays-off-over-150-employees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">laid off over 150 employees<\/a> despite announcing in April that it had raised <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2022\/04\/26\/pollen-raises-150m-in-series-c-funding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$150m (\u00a3124m\/\u20ac147m) in Series C funding<\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The company, which was founded by brothers Callum and Liam Negus-Fancey in 2014, then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2022\/07\/11\/pollen-misses-june-payroll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">missed its June payroll<\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>CEO Callum Negus-Fancey said that workers would be paid but there was a delay because of a potential major deal with a \u201cwell-known entertainment company\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Orosz <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GergelyOrosz\/status\/1555276043598139392\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said on Twitter<\/a>: \u201cHow would you feel if your salary was not paid, but the CEO said you\u2019ll be paid once a mysterious deal closes next week? Next week, he says the deal takes longer b\/c people leaked to the press about not getting paid. And this goes on for weeks? It\u2019s happening at Pollen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The writer then said that some workers also missed out on pay for July.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cEveryone working in tech is refusing work. This is after not being paid for July, and the deadline when founder and CEO Callum Negus-Fancey said things will be sorted passed with no pay.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpdates from the CEO are getting shorter and without specifics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Orosz then shared a screenshot of an email from Callum Negus-Fancey which read: \u201cI\u2019m afraid I don\u2019t have a meaningful update yet \u2013 I will update again this week. I understand the impact this is having and I\u2019m sorry I can\u2019t share more.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The latest update from the CEO.
