Independent rail and coach travel platform Trainline has announced a discount for those making their way to any professional women\u2019s football match in England this season, in a bid to boost attendances.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Following England\u2019s victory in the UEFA Women\u2019s Euro this summer, there has been a huge boom in interest<\/a> to watch women\u2019s football.<\/p>\n

The \u00a310 ($12\/\u20ac12) discount on train tickets used to travel to women\u2019s professional football matches is available to use now when booking until August 31, or until 10,000 discounts have been claimed.\u00a0The aim is to boost attendances at women\u2019s football matches.<\/p>\n

Trainline has introduced the offer after research revealed that over two thirds (68%) of those polled travelled by train to the Women\u2019s Euro, while a further 43% said they would attend further sporting matches if they could save on travel.<\/p>\n

A third of those surveyed said that England winning the Women\u2019s Euro has been one of the most inspirational moments in women\u2019s sport in the last five years. Some four in 10 (44%) agreed that the Lionesses\u2019 win broke boundaries while 37% think the side was inspirational due to the records broken.<\/p>\n

The win over Germany in the final at Wembley also encouraged 70% of women to play football according to the survey from Trainline, with young children also inspired to take up the sport.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Beth Mead, England forward and winner of Euro 2022, said: \u201cIt was an incredible experience with England to receive the nation\u2019s support on our route to winning Euro 2022.
