Ars Nova, the non-profit theatre and production company based in New York, has announced that it will introduce a \u2018name your price\u2019 initiative for ticketing at its events.<\/p>\n
To coincide with the theatre\u2019s 20th<\/sup> anniversary season, attendees will pay at least $5 per ticket, but will then decide how much they would like to pay \u2013 up to $100 \u2013 in $5 increments.<\/p>\n The theatre is committed to developing plays, comedy and music events that are created by artists in the early stages of their careers.<\/p>\n The initiative will begin on October 6 and cover all shows at Ars Nova\u2019s base in Hell\u2019s Kitchen, as well as the organisation\u2019s two productions at Greenwich House during the 2022-23 season.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re serving up a multitude of innovative outside-the-box theater, and making it easier than ever for you to be a part of the action,\u201d Ars Nova said.<\/p>\n \u201c<\/em>What\u2019s Ars is Yours: Name Your Price <\/em>is rooted in our mission to make the smart, surprising new work of New York City\u2019s most promising emerging artists accessible to the next generation of theatre-goers, and is an expansion of our long-standing Ticket Subsidy Initiative.\u201d<\/p>\n The Ticket Subsidy scheme had ensured tickets were available for Ars Nova\u2019s \u2018Off-Broadway Premiere Productions\u2019 at no more than $35 for every performance during an initial run.<\/p>\n Tickets for Ars Nova\u2019s most recent show, \u2018Oratorio for Living Things\u2019, ranged from $35 to $95.<\/p>\n Image: Ars Nova<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
