New Jersey congressman Bill Pascrell has asked Live Nation Entertainment to explain what he has described as the company\u2019s \u201cexorbitant\u201d prices for musician Bruce Springsteen\u2019s 2023 tour.<\/p>\n
In a letter to LNE president and CEO Michael Rapino, Pascrell, a prominent Democratic Representative, also called on the promoter to explain the \u201cfrustratingly opaque process\u201d that leads to its ticket pricing.<\/p>\n
Pascrell, who was a critic of the original merger between Live Nation and Ticketmaster, called on the Federal Trade Commission and the Justice Department to break up the company earlier this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI write on behalf of my constituents and fans across the country that are excited for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band\u2019s 2023 tour,\u201d Pascrell stated in his letter. \u201cHard-working Americans who are fans of Bruce and other popular entertainers should have the ability to enjoy live entertainment without ticket-sales practices that rip off consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n Pascrell alleged that prices for tickets \u2013 reportedly as high as $5,000 \u2013 are due to LNE\u2019s \u201cmarket-based pricing\u201d, which he believes has resulted in inflated prices.<\/p>\n Pascrell urged LNE \u201cto help fans better understand the frustratingly opaque process that leads to such high prices.\u201d<\/p>\n Last month, Springsteen\u2019s manager Jon Landau told The New York Times that ticket prices for the tour were averaging in the mid-$200 range.<\/p>\n Image:\u00a0Tijs van Leur<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0Unsplash<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
