{"id":2419,"date":"2022-09-09T02:05:05","date_gmt":"2022-09-09T09:05:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2022\/09\/09\/lyte-to-acquire-event-genius-assets-as-parent-company-festicket-set-to-fall-into-administration\/"},"modified":"2022-09-09T02:05:05","modified_gmt":"2022-09-09T09:05:05","slug":"lyte-to-acquire-event-genius-assets-as-parent-company-festicket-set-to-fall-into-administration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2022\/09\/09\/lyte-to-acquire-event-genius-assets-as-parent-company-festicket-set-to-fall-into-administration\/","title":{"rendered":"Lyte to acquire Event Genius assets as parent company Festicket set to fall into administration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Event Genius, which was acquired by the failing Festicket in 2019, has issued an update to its partners informing them that an agreement has been made with ticket exchange service Lyte to acquire certain assets.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Last month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2022\/08\/24\/festicket-moratorium-hints-at-post-pandemic-struggles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Festicket filed a moratorium<\/a> which typically means that struggling businesses are given formal breathing room to try and come up with a rescue plan.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The moratorium period was then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2022\/09\/07\/moratorium-filed-by-festicket-ends-suggestions-of-falling-into-administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ended by monitors<\/a> as it was no longer likely to result in the rescue of the company.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Filings from Companies House said \u2018the Board resolved on 29 August 2022 that the Company should enter Administration proceedings and that a Notice of Intention to Appoint Administrators be filed\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Event Genius has sent out an update to its partners on the situation and has confirmed that the existing business will be wound down.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the update seen by TheTicketingBusiness, Event Genius said: \u201cWe can now tell you that an agreement has been made with Lyte for the sale of certain assets from the business, including the technology platforms and employee contracts. We are on a path to close this transaction on Monday 12 September.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn parallel, we are in a process to wind down the existing business, which includes the appointment of an Administrator to determine what monies will be on-hand to pay out unsecured creditors and promoter obligations. You will be hearing more on that process from us soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The update continued: \u201cGoing forward, Lyte will take over the operation and continue providing our end-to-end event management technology \u2013 while also offering their platform \u2013 to all of our partners.
