Around 40% of tickets for a T20 International match between India and Australia sold on the first day, despite some technical hiccups.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) had also announced that sales were pushed back a day as a mark of respect after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who died last week at the age of 96.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This means that ticket sales started on September 11 instead of the day before, with 40% of tickets being sold for the 27,000-capacity IS Bindra PCA International Stadium. Fans could purchase tickets through online ticketing platform Paytm\/Insider.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Tickets for this specific match were put on sale online only, except for student tickets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Prices have been increased by as much as 66% for the T20 International, which is set to take place next week on September 20.<\/p>\n Despite the price increase, fans still rushed to purchase tickets but encountered issues when trying to add tickets to their online cart.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Dilsher Khanna, secretary for the PCA told The Indian Express<\/a>: \u201cWe have sold around 40 per cent of the capacity of the IS Bindra PCA International Stadium through online sales already. This was the first lot of tickets allocated to the online platform on Monday.\u201d<\/p>\n Another 10% of tickets were place on sale yesterday (Tuesday) and 10% were put on sale today. A further 10% will be put on sale tomorrow.<\/p>\n \u201cThe rest \u2013 30% of tickets are the student tickets, which will be sold through counters at the stadium, and complimentary passes.
