Icelandic ticketing software company Tix Ticketing has rebranded to become Tixly.<\/p>\n
The company hopes that the new moniker will boost its global growth ambitions, with the cloud-based event ticketing system already utilised in nine European countries and North America.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Tixly has also announced that founder Sindri Finnbogason (pictured left) is switching roles to become the company\u2019s head of product, while Hrefna Jonsdottir (pictured middle) will become managing director.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Jonsdottir said: \u201cWith the goal of simplifying our brand and uniquely proclaiming our values of simply innovative software for culture ticketing, we are changing our name and will from today be known as Tixly.\u201d<\/p>\n The company has also added Ticketmaster veteran Kjell Arne Orseth (pictured right) to its board, who was previously an executive with the Live Nation-owned ticketing company for 17 years. He held a number of roles with the most recent being executive vice-president, International. He will become chairman of Tixly from November 1.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Jonsdottir added: \u201cWe believe that under this new global brand and leadership we are ready for the next chapter in Tixly\u2019s evolution. We believe no other company is adequately addressing the specific needs of cultural institutions and venues. This is the unique selling proposition that is fuelling our growth within the cultural segment across Europe and our entry into North America.\u201d<\/p>\n Founder Finnbogason said: \u201cI am very excited about our current expansion, both geographically and of the product itself. There is still a lot of room to grow as more venues transfer to simpler ticketing and marketing solutions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe large number of customers in the cultural segment that have chosen Tixly, after diligently comparing our product to others, shows how a software solution that is both robust and offers simple intuitive design can gain a lot of traction in a relatively short period of time.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cIn all the 20 years I have been in the ticketing software business I have never experienced such excitement for a product as I have for the current iteration of Tixly.
