The upcoming Rugby League World Cup 2021 (RLWC2021) has sold 350,000 tickets, with International Rugby League chair Troy Grant calling the figure \u201cgreat\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In an interview with Insidethegames<\/a>,\u00a0Grant said: \u201cCost of living increases means late minute ticket-buying will be a likely outcome, so we\u2019re optimistic targets are being met.\u201d<\/p>\n The tournament is set to kick off in England this weekend.<\/p>\n Organisers revealed the tournament had surpassed the 350,000 sales mark recently, with the opening match between England and Samoa at St James\u2019 Park now two-thirds sold out.<\/p>\n England\u2019s men\u2019s group game against France at University of Bolton Stadium has under 5,000 tickets remaining, while England\u2019s women\u2019s opening match at Headingley Stadium in Leeds has sold almost 10,000 tickets. The opening women\u2019s game is set to welcome a record-breaking crowd<\/a>.<\/p>\n Wheelchair tournament tickets at The Copper Box Arena in London are also limited, while Manchester Central has under 1,000 tickets available for the Wheelchair Final on November 19.<\/p>\n Adults can still secure a spot for under \u00a325 ($28\/\u20ac29) for 57 of the 61 matches set to take place. Tickets first went on sale for the Rugby League World Cup 2021 in 2020 with 80% of tickets priced at \u00a350 or less.<\/p>\n RLWC2021 revenue director Mick Hogan said: \u201cThings are now shaping up with ticket sales really increasing and lots of excitement around the nations revealing the superstars coming to England this Autumn. Lots of categories are now in limited supply, so we\u2019d encourage fans to act quickly to ensure they don\u2019t miss out as we\u2019re likely to see further games selling out in advance of the opening day.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n
