We round up the latest movements from the ticketing sector and associated industries\u2026<\/p>\n
Eduardo Plata<\/b> (pictured right) has recently joined cloud software company CM.com to focus on the introduction of the company\u2019s ticketing solution to the Iberia region.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Plata has taken on the role of ticketing sales manager at Dutch company CM.com, to lead the expansion of ticketing into the Spanish market. This is the latest expansion outside of the Benelux region and the UK for the ticketing division.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Plata said: \u201cI am very excited to join CM.com and to be taking up this brand new\u00a0role. The challenges are huge in this market, but we have outstanding systems and ticketing solutions, which I am sure will be very useful for many promoters and venues all over the country.\u201d<\/p>\n The Bowery Presents, AEG Presents\u2019 concert promoter based on the East Coast in the US, has appointed Charley Magrew<\/b> as senior vice-president of marketing, ticketing and partnerships.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Magrew will focus on new venue development, event marketing, strategic partnerships, ticket inventory management and more in his new role.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Alex Ogilvie<\/b> has started a new role as head of brand and communications with event ticketing software provider, Lyte.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Ogilvie was previously head of brand and communications for Event Genius and Festicket, which recently fell into administration. Lyte agreed to purchase the assets<\/a> of the failed businesses and take on members of staff.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Adam Longhurst<\/b> has joined UK-headquartered operator Tickitto from Bookatable, a company acquired by online travel company Tripadvisor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Longhurst has joined as the company\u2019s distribution partnerships lead, after spending almost a decade at Booktable in various roles. He also has experience with GivePanel in partnerships.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Martin Green CBE<\/b>, who was previously chief creative officer for this summer\u2019s Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, has announced he is going to help run next year\u2019s Eurovision Song Contest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Green has been appointed as managing director for the competition, which will take place in Liverpool next year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI am thrilled to have been asked to lead the delivery of Eurovision 2023 for the BBC. As a lifelong fan of the contest, it\u2019s a dream come true.\u00a0 I\u2019m looking forward to working with the brilliant team at the BBC, in Liverpool and the EBU and of course colleagues from Ukraine; I speak for us all when I say we\u2019ll do you proud,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Lucy Noble<\/b> is leaving the Royal Albert Hall to become AEG Presents\u2019 first artistic director.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Nobel had been with the Royal Albert Hall for more than 20 years, after becoming the head of programming in 2001. She is also the former chair of the National Arenas Association, and is currently an executive member of LIVE and chair of its venues sub-committee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Mark Prethero<\/b> has joined mobile marketplace Headout as the general manager of live entertainment \u2013 Europe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Prethero said on LinkedIn: \u201cI\u2019m super excited to announce that I have joined Headout as their GM of Live Entertainment \u2013 Europe. Experiencing the world we live in is fundamental to our collective happiness.\u201d<\/p>\n ASM Global has appointed Kimberly Weedmark<\/b> (pictured left) as the new general manager for the Los Angeles Convention Center.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Weedmark\u2019s experience in the sector spans over two decades including her most recent role with Universal Studios Hollywood.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n ASM Global\u2019s Dan Hoffend, executive vice-president of convention centres, said: \u201cLos Angeles continues to grow as a hub for many of the world\u2019s significant conventions and events; and with Kimberly\u2019s longtime experience with one of the city\u2019s iconic and most popular destinations, we anticipate LACC\u2019s growth will be even more robust in coming years.\u201d<\/p>\n Do you have news of an appointment that we should know about?
