Arts and culture organisation Center Theatre Group has launched \u2018Ticket Drop Tuesdays\u2019, which will see tickets released for a $20 (\u00a318\/\u20ac20) flat rate every Tuesday. <\/p>\n
The tickets will be for shows at The Ahmanson Theatre and Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles and Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City, which are all operated by Center Theatre Group.<\/p>\n
Beginning yesterday (Tuesday) Ticket Drop Tuesdays hopes to encourage everyone to go to the theatre. A limited number of tickets will be made available each week at 12pm local time, with new shows and ticket locations added every time. All fees will also be waived by theatre-goers using the code TUESDAY20.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The new low-cost ticket opportunity is the latest initiative to fall under Center Theatre Group\u2019s \u2018Theatre Access for LA\u2019. The programme seeks to create a more inclusive theatre through subsidised ticket offers, audience engagement, education projects and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Further initiatives include \u2018FreePlay\u2019, which offers free tickets to anyone aged 25 or under to select performances at all Center Theatre Group productions. The \u2018In the House\u2019 scheme also offers free tickets to LA area schools, colleges, and non-profit organisations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Tickets for yesterday\u2019s drop included entry for \u2018The Search for Signs of intelligent Life in the Universe\u2019 and \u2018Clyde\u2019s\u2019 at the Mark Taper Forum, and \u20182:22 \u2013 A Ghost Story\u2019 at the Ahmanson Theatre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Meghan Pressman, Center Theatre Group\u2019s managing director and chief executive, said: \u201cWe believe having access to live theatre is integral to creating a vibrant, inspired, and innovative community.
