New South Wales (NSW) Government has partnered with 15 councils to provide a boost for major cultural events and festivals across the region.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Some of the councils include Liverpool City Council, Blacktown City Council, Georges River Council, Wollongong City Council, the City of Canterbury Bankstown, Inner West Council and City of Newcastle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Liverpool City Council will utilise A$800,000 (\u00a3452,509\/$523,332\/\u20ac519,301) over two years to boost its Motherland African Cultural Festival Pacific Summer Primavera Latin American Festival. Blacktown City Council will be given a grant of A$400,000 for its Flavours of Blacktown event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The City of Canterbury Bankstown will receive a A$1m grant for the Ramadan Nights Lakemba event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Minister for Multiculturalism Mark Coure said: \u201cTo have 21 different multicultural events hosted by 15 councils across the state\u2019s Six Cities regions is a testament to NSW\u2019s rich cultural and religious diversity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis funding will help each of these councils take their events and festivals to the next level.\u201d<\/p>\n Further councils include Campbelltown City Council, Cumberland City Town, Lake Macquarie City Council, Maitland City Council, Port Stephens Council, Shellharbour City Council, Strathfield Council and Willoughby City Councils. The councils will receive between A$100,000 and A$980,000.<\/p>\n Minister for Local Government Wendy Tuckerman added: \u201cLocal Councils are the level of government closest to the community, so the NSW Government working directly with councils in our six cities will ensure these celebrations benefit their communities directly.<\/p>\n \u201cBy partnering with councils, we\u00a0are\u00a0boosting\u00a0local\u00a0cultural\u00a0celebrations\u00a0led by\u00a0local leaders,\u00a0helping to\u00a0cater for bigger crowds so tourists can experience everything their city has to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n
