The production went on to become a fixture on London\u2019s West End and has been performed almost 29,000 times.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Some 10 million people have watched The Mousetrap over the last 70 years.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0The play also celebrated its 50th\u00a0anniversary (<\/span>pictured) in 2002.<\/p>\n<p>While the show has been performed in the US before, it has never been staged in New York on Broadway.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The switch to Broadway was partly inspired by a profile boost at the hands of recent murder mystery film, See How They Run.
