English Football League club Plymouth Argyle has revealed that its 2022-23 season ticket sales are now the highest on record.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Argyle, which plays its domestic football in League One, moved to a digital ticketing system in 2003, with ticket data incomplete prior to this change. Since the records were digitised, the 2004-05 season held the previous season ticket record of 9,549. This was the first of a six-season stint in the Championship.<\/p>\n
The club\u2019s current season ticket sales figure is 9,600 at the time of writing, with half-season tickets still on sale.<\/p>\n
Current average attendance at Home Park, which is Plymouth Argyle\u2019s home ground, stands at 14,882. To find a higher average attendance in the third tier of English football, the club would have to go back to the 1958-59 season. Home Park has a capacity of 16,388.<\/p>\n
The club also revealed that there has been a growth in under-18 season ticket-holders of 60%, while Argyle\u2019s most recent League One fixtures at Home Park have all exceeded attendances of 15,000.<\/p>\n
Jamie Yabsley, Argyle\u2019s head of marketing and communications, said: \u201cThis season\u2019s attendances have been incredible, and we can\u2019t thank supporters enough for the way they\u2019ve backed the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of work goes into, firstly, ensuring that the matchday experience is as good as the very best clubs in the EFL \u2013 and our Family Excellence status in the last few seasons is testament to that.<\/p>\n
