Entertainment giant AEG is reportedly set to open an office in Australia for its AXS ticketing platform.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to a report from The Australian<\/a>, AXS chief executive Bryan Perez is looking at the Australian live music market as part of a major expansion.<\/p>\n The new office would potentially give AEG an Australian-focused ticketing arm that could be of use to its AEG Ogden venues such as Qudos Bank Arena, Brisbane Entertainment Centre, RAC Arena, Suncorp Stadium and Perth Theatre.<\/p>\n It would also mean that AEG would be able to join the other major concert promoters in Australia, including Live Nation (Ticketmaster) and TEG (Ticketek), in having its own local ticketing arm.<\/p>\n AEG also has a long-standing partnership with Australian and New Zealand concert promoter Frontier Touring, meaning the move could see AEG have a strong hold over tickets, venues and even shows.<\/p>\n The relationship with Mushroom Group\u2019s Frontier Touring was announced in 2019<\/a> to help grow the companies\u2019 presence through the Asia-Pacific region.<\/p>\n The report added that the office will open next month.<\/p>\n \u201cWe feel like there\u2019s an opportunity for a third major player to come in, but we don\u2019t want to just come in and do business the same old way,\u201d Perez told The Australian.<\/p>\n \u201cWe think that there\u2019s a new and better business model out there, where ticketing may be a little bit more non-exclusive and open.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n
