Jacobs Theatre on October 3, before opening on November 3.<\/p>\n<p>It is the latest in a string of Broadway show closure announcements, including \u2018KPOP\u2019 which closed on December 11 just two weeks after opening. \u2018Ain\u2019t No Mo\u2019 also received a closing notice, though it was extended until tomorrow (Friday).<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Almost Famous\u2019 received mixed to poor reviews, cementing its fate with lacklustre grosses. The musical brought in $765,060 (\u00a3635,000\/\u20ac719,000) in the week ending December 11. The production also only played to theatres at 74% capacity.<\/p>\n<p>New York is experiencing a downturn in tourism and Broadway shows are having to struggle with higher running costs.<\/p>\n<p>High-profile Broadway shows have also suffered this year, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2022\/09\/20\/the-phantom-of-the-opera-to-close-on-broadway-next-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Phantom of the Opera<\/a> set to close in February after 35 years. It is Broadway\u2019s longest-running production.<\/p>\n<p>The Off-Broadway production of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2022\/12\/07\/stomp-to-close-after-29-years-due-to-declining-ticket-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stomp is also set to close<\/a> after 29 years due to declining ticket sales.<\/p>\n<p>The show had run at the East Village\u2019s Orpheum Theatre since February 27, 1994 in New York.
