London Theatre Week 2022, which enables theatre fans to purchase tickets to top West End shows for a lower price, witnessed gross sales increase by 43% year-on-year,<\/a> TodayTix Group told TheTicketingBusiness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The promotion took place earlier in the year and tickets were sold for as little as \u00a315 ($18\/\u20ac17), meaning theatre-goers could snap up tickets for popular West End shows for a fraction of the price. Over 360,000 tickets were sold over the three-week campaign, showing an appetite for live performing arts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In April, a number of Major League Soccer (MLS) teams opted to partner with Project Admission, a platform that works with the live events, entertainment and sport industries to provide monetising features and opportunities around ticketing. Austin FC, Houston Dynamo and Sporting KC joined the Project Admission portfolio.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Teams in the National Women\u2019s Soccer League (NWSL) also opted to utilise the platform\u2019s services<\/a>, including Houston Dash and Louisville Racing.<\/p>\n This year has seen a number of attendance and sales records smashed for Formula 1. In April, organisers of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone<\/a> announced that all Sunday tickets had sold out in the shortest amount of time in the race\u2019s history. This is a trend that would continue for a number of other F1 events across 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Rounding off April, the European Union (EU) reached a provisional political agreement on the Digital Services Act<\/a> (DSA), with a benefit for ticket buyers as it aimed to crack down on ticket resale abuse. The Face-Value European Alliance for Ticketing (FEAT) welcomed the move, having spent two years engaging with the EU on the DSA.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n
