{"id":3395,"date":"2023-01-09T07:18:50","date_gmt":"2023-01-09T15:18:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2023\/01\/09\/london-southbank-venue-spiritland-closes\/"},"modified":"2023-01-09T07:18:50","modified_gmt":"2023-01-09T15:18:50","slug":"london-southbank-venue-spiritland-closes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2023\/01\/09\/london-southbank-venue-spiritland-closes\/","title":{"rendered":"London Southbank venue Spiritland closes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"primary\">\n<p class=\"standfirst\">Spiritland, located on central London\u2019s Southbank, has closed its doors.<\/p>\n<p>The venue opened at the Royal Festival Hall in 2018 and mixed eating, drinking and live music.<\/p>\n<p>The Southbank venue is part of a series of Spiritland spaces, which include a caf\u00e9 and bar in King\u2019s Cross, and a Headphone Bar in Mayfair.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CnEr_hBKuCk\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">post<\/a> on social media, Spirtland said: \u201cSome tough news to share \u2013 our beloved home on the Southbank is now closed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe set out to build a pleasure palace for lovers of music and culture \u2013 a space for drinking and dining, dancing and conversation with Europe\u2019s biggest arts centre. We would have loved to continue our mission there but the current conditions simply don\u2019t allow it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCOVID, Brexit, energy price rises and numerous other factors have made this difficult decision inevitable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The post added that two more gigs would be played to mark the end of the Southbank journey, with a performance from band Black Keys and a free party (which took place last Friday).<\/p>\n<p>Then, on Friday January 13, the venue will host a night of music from its first DJs to perform back in 2018, Pulp\u2019s Jarvis Cocker and Hot Chip\u2019s Alexis Taylor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll miss our beautiful home on the Southbank.
