{"id":3759,"date":"2023-02-22T06:23:52","date_gmt":"2023-02-22T14:23:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2023\/02\/22\/creative-scotland-celebrates-budget-cut-u-turn\/"},"modified":"2023-02-22T06:23:52","modified_gmt":"2023-02-22T14:23:52","slug":"creative-scotland-celebrates-budget-cut-u-turn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2023\/02\/22\/creative-scotland-celebrates-budget-cut-u-turn\/","title":{"rendered":"Creative Scotland celebrates budget cut u-turn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"primary\">\n<p class=\"standfirst\">Creative Scotland has welcomed the Scottish Government\u2019s decision to reverse a cut to around 10% of its budget.<\/p>\n<p>The decision, taken as the Scottish Parliament considered the Scottish Government\u2019s 2023\/24 Budget, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2022\/12\/20\/creative-scotland-disappointed-by-scottish-government-funding-cuts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reverses the \u00a36.6m reduction<\/a> proposed in the Draft Budget, in December last year, and restores Creative Scotland\u2019s Grant-in-Aid budget to \u00a363m.<\/p>\n<p>Creative Scotland, which is the public body that supports the nation\u2019s arts, screen and creative industries, said it will now consider what this change means for its own budget for the forthcoming year, and its implications for the funding it provides.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Wilson, chair of Creative Scotland, said: \u201cAlongside the board and staff, I am very pleased to see this announcement about the Scottish Government\u2019s Budget.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt follows a great deal of work from Creative Scotland in setting out the impact and implications of the proposed budget reduction, and the enormously valuable advocacy work from people and organisations across Scotland\u2019s culture sector and beyond. The board will now consider what this means for our budget and our funding in 2023\/24 and we will announce more on this as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In December 2022, Creative Scotland said it was \u201cdisappointed\u201d at the news its funding was to be cut.
