Greater Sydney\u2019s growing appetite for outdoor entertainment and cultural events cannot be met with temporary venues that are costly, disrupt public access and are unable to endure extreme weather events.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPermanent performance shells in Sydney\u2019s parklands are an opportunity to revitalise live entertainment and deliver wider cultural, social and economic benefits across Greater Sydney, Despite a growing outdoor event and festivals sector making use of public parklands, Greater Sydney still lacks a permanent home for such events, in stark contrast to many cities throughout the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is also predicted that 2,362 permanent jobs would be created, with A$453m (\u00a3255m\/$306m\/\u20ac288m) generated in economic impact across the greater Sydney area and A$104m spent in additional out-of-venue spending each year.
