The side currently stages its home matches at Children\u2019s Mercy Park, home of Major League Soccer\u2019s Sporting Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p>The club broke ground on the landmark new stadium in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestadiumbusiness.com\/2022\/10\/10\/kc-current-breaks-ground-on-landmark-nwsl-stadium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">October last year<\/a>, and the venue will have a capacity of 11,500. The stadium is being built at Berkley Riverfront Park at a cost of $117m (\u00a397m\/\u20ac110m).<\/p>\n<p>New renderings were also released in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestadiumbusiness.com\/2022\/12\/13\/kc-current-reveals-fresh-renderings-of-landmark-nwsl-stadium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">December<\/a>, showcasing a view of the stadium\u2019s east stand, which will be branded with the word \u2018Current\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Current switched to ticketing platform SeatGeek in 2022, a season which saw a 13-match unbeaten streak and more than 10,000 fans attend the club\u2019s match against Angel City FC in August. This broke the franchise record as the highest-attended home match ever.<\/p>\n<p>Current president Allison Howard said: \u201cAs we prepare for our move to the first stadium purpose-built for a women\u2019s professional soccer team, we want technology that fits the fans in 2023 and caters to our fans in 2024 and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve heard great feedback from our supporters about SeatGeek\u2019s app, and we will continue to build on that technology in our own app to level up the matchday experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Ianello, executive vice-president of client partnerships at SeatGeek, added: \u201cThe end-to-end user experience for fans has been overlooked for too long and a lot of the innovation in this area is coming from women\u2019s sports. Our goal is to help the Current make its new stadium a model for fan-friendly innovation by starting with technology first.
