These are tickets acquired with fake accounts\/listed on secondary resale sites. Ticketmaster have identified specific locations from secondary postings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Cure frontman also warned prior to revealing the figure that ticket-buyers should not attempt to find a loophole with ticket transfer rules. He <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RobertSmith\/status\/1641639865979682817\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>: \u201cBeware another scalper scam: offering to sell\/send account login details to get around TM transfer limitations\u2026any\/all tickets obtained in this way will be cancelled, and original fees paid on those tickets will not be refunded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOriginal fees paid on those tickets will be donated to Amnesty International, and the tickets themselves will be resold to fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"shortcode-ad-holder within-content\">\n<div class=\"single-square-ad\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/adverts\/3d-digital-venue-march23\/\" class=\"ad-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"square-banner\" src=\" https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/3DDV-500x700-1.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"single-wide-ad\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/adverts\/3d-digital-venue-march23\/\" class=\"ad-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wide-banner\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2023\/04\/03\/the-cures-robert-smith-says-7000-scalped-tickets-for-tour-dates-have-been-cancelled\/\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>The Cure and Smith have been vocal about keeping prices cheap for fans and keeping them safe from ticket scalpers.<\/p>\n<p>Before tickets went on sale last month, the band announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2023\/03\/13\/the-cure-aim-to-protect-fans-against-scalpers-and-high-prices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ticket prices<\/a> would be available for as little as $20 (\u00a316.18\/\u20ac18.41) each and that transfer and resale would be limited.<\/p>\n<p>Following the tickets going on sale, fans were quick to voice their anger at Ticketmaster\u2019s fees in addition to the cost of the ticket.<\/p>\n<p>Smith <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2023\/03\/16\/the-cures-robert-smith-sickened-by-tm-fees-calls-platinum-option-a-greedy-scam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said at the time<\/a>: \u201cI am as sickened as you all are by today\u2019s Ticketmaster \u2018fees\u2019 debacle. To be very clear: The artist has no way to limit them.
