{"id":4086,"date":"2023-04-04T02:30:59","date_gmt":"2023-04-04T09:30:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2023\/04\/04\/music-venue-trusts-own-our-venues-campaign-raises-2-3m\/"},"modified":"2023-04-04T02:30:59","modified_gmt":"2023-04-04T09:30:59","slug":"music-venue-trusts-own-our-venues-campaign-raises-2-3m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2023\/04\/04\/music-venue-trusts-own-our-venues-campaign-raises-2-3m\/","title":{"rendered":"Music Venue Trust\u2019s \u2018Own Our Venues\u2019 campaign raises \u00a32.3m"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"primary\">\n<p class=\"standfirst\">Music Venue Trust\u2019s (MVT) Music Venue Properties (MVP) board met recently to discuss the outcome of the \u2018Own Our Venues\u2019 campaign, which has raised \u00a32.3m (\u20ac2.6m\/$2.9m) from 1,261 individual investors.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The board voted unanimously to move ahead with modelling the purchase of the first set of grassroots music venues.<\/p>\n<p>MVT set up the Charitable Community Benefit Society (CCBS) Music Venue Properties <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2022\/05\/23\/music-venue-trust-launches-music-venue-properties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in May last year<\/a>, to help grassroots music venues by purchasing freeholds. MVP will then be able to lease the properties back to operators with reduced rents and help with insurance or repairs.<\/p>\n<p>A total of \u00a32,318,210 was raised and MVP will now write to all investors before April 17, with a clear plan to start the purchase of venues. There are plans to complete the purchase of its first set of venues before this summer.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"shortcode-ad-holder within-content\">\n<div class=\"single-square-ad\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/adverts\/3d-digital-venue-march23\/\" class=\"ad-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"square-banner\" src=\" https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/3DDV-500x700-1.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"single-wide-ad\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/adverts\/3d-digital-venue-march23\/\" class=\"ad-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wide-banner\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2023\/04\/04\/music-venue-trusts-own-our-venues-campaign-raises-2-3m\/\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Mark Davyd, chief executive of Music Venue Trust, said: \u201cMVT has a motto: \u2018People who say it cannot be done should get out of the way of the people doing it\u2019. I am immensely proud of my team for once again proving that the grassroots community are the people who can get it done.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would especially like to single out Matt Otridge, who has steered this project through incredibly turbulent times to a fantastic conclusion. Without Matt\u2019s dedicated work across the last ten months this simply would not have been possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rhoda Dakar, MVP board member, added: \u201cToday I\u2019m so happy because we\u2019re at the beginning of a beautiful partnership between all of you who love seeing live music in grassroots venues and all of us who play in and run those venues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMVP has raised the money to make a start on a new ownership model creating permanent homes for live music, no longer relying on the temporary benevolence of commercial landlords. It\u2019s a model we want to roll out across the country, stabilising this sector in perpetuity.
