The venue originally had its licence suspended straight away <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2022\/12\/22\/brixton-o2-academy-has-licence-suspended-following-crush\/%C2%A0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">following the event<\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A decision from the local authority on the venue\u2019s future is expected to be decided at a licensing meeting soon.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn Monday 16 January, the licence of the O2 Academy Brixton was suspended for three months,\u201d the Met told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/uk-news\/2023\/apr\/25\/met-police-calls-for-brixton-academys-license-to-be-revoked%C2%A0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PA news agency<\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn 14 April, the Met police submitted an application for a review of [the] premises licence to Lambeth council and will be seeking a revocation of the licence.
