Midnight Sun Weekender, a new music festival that was set to take place on the Isle of Lewis, has been cancelled due to a lack of ticket sales.<\/p>\n
The cancellation was revealed a week out from the event, which was due to take place at Lew\u2019s Castle (pictured) in Stornoway, Scotland from May 25-27. The festival was originally set to be headlined by Scottish rock band Primal Scream.<\/p>\n
Organisers blamed rising costs and limited availability on festival infrastructure, as well as the current cost-of-living crisis and its impact on ticket sales.<\/p>\n
Ian MacArthur, Midnight Sun Weekend director, said: \u201cAs organisers, we have tried everything we can to overcome the challenges we have faced to stage this event, however it has become impossible for us to move forward.\u00a0We are deeply disappointed to confirm this news, especially at this late stage and would like to reassure our customers that anyone who has purchased tickets will be able to claim a refund.<\/p>\n
