Ticketing and live entertainment company CTS Eventim has commissioned civil engineering company Trevi with the first construction phase of the new Arena Santa Giulia in Milan.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The multifunctional arena in Italy is part of the development of the new Santa Giulia district and will be used for ice hockey events during the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.<\/p>\n
Architect David Chipperfield had already teamed up with international consultants Arup on the design of the venue.<\/p>\n
Trevi has now embarked on setting up the construction site and will start driving in the first piles that will form the new arena\u2019s deep foundations. The general contractor to build the new arena will be chosen over the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
Construction of the 16,000-capacity arena is expected to take around two and a half years to complete.<\/p>\n
The project design also features a piazza and more than 10,000 square metres of space for summer festivals and open-air events. Once completed, the arena will form part of CTS Eventim\u2019s portfolio of venues.<\/p>\n
