In March, the long journey towards the approval of the Viagogo and StubHub merger by the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) began, with the CMA stating it proposed to accept the deal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The $4.05bn merger between Viagogo and StubHub<\/a> would be dependent on the selling off of all StubHub\u2019s businesses outside of North America.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Elsewhere and West End theatre giant Ambassador Theatre Group entered into a deal<\/a> with US theatre operator Nederlander to acquire three large-scale venues. UK-based Ambassador penned an agreement to purchase the Golden Gate Theatre and Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco, and the Fisher Theatre in Detroit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In the English Premier League, West Ham United unwittingly leaked supporters\u2019 data<\/a> due to a \u201ctechnical error\u201d while accessing the ticketing system. The security breach exposed fans\u2019 information including their full name, date of birth, mobile telephone number, address and email address.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Vivid Seats was forced to cough up $7.5m in a proposed settlement deal<\/a> after ticket buyers alleged the company had failed to issue full refunds for shows cancelled to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The buyers claim that Vivid Seats went back on its 100% guarantee after events were cancelled during the pandemic.
