Over 200,000 tickets were sold across 45 matches in the pre-sale for the ICC Men\u2019s T20 World Cup, which is set to take place in Australia later this year.<\/p>\n
Tickets also went on sale to the general public today (Monday) with around 800,000 fans expected to attend the tournament.<\/p>\n
The most popular match in the pre-sale was India vs Pakistan, followed by the final on November 13 and Australia vs New Zealand.<\/p>\n
The next two popular purchases included the Australia vs England and Afghanistan vs Group B runner-up double-header, and the South Africa vs Bangladesh and India vs Group A runner-up double-header.<\/p>\n
Children\u2019s tickets are available for first round and Super 12 matches from just A$5 (\u00a32.60\/\u20ac3\/$3.50), with adult tickets available for as little as A$20 at select matches.<\/p>\n
The start of the general sale coincided with the launch of the T20 World Cup\u2019s \u2018This is the Big Time\u2019 campaign, highlighting the impending action of the tournament in Australia.<\/p>\n
Some 16 teams will compete between October 16 and November 13 across seven host cities.<\/p>\n
The campaign was developed with Australian creative agency Cummins & Partners and features Australia\u2019s Glenn Maxwell, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and India\u2019s Rishabh Pant.<\/p>\n
Chief executive of ICC Men\u2019s T20 World Cup 20222 Local Organising Committee, Michelle Enright, said: \u201cThere\u2019s nothing bigger in cricket than a World Cup and the T20 format is such a fun, energetic, vibrant celebration of cricket and culture \u2013 it really is the big time and that\u2019s exactly what this campaign is about.\u201d<\/p>\n
