{"id":727,"date":"2022-02-09T03:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-09T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/09\/french-consumer-protection-agency-hands-out-fines-over-misleading-sales-practices\/"},"modified":"2022-02-09T03:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-02-09T11:00:00","slug":"french-consumer-protection-agency-hands-out-fines-over-misleading-sales-practices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/09\/french-consumer-protection-agency-hands-out-fines-over-misleading-sales-practices\/","title":{"rendered":"French consumer protection agency hands out fines over misleading sales practices\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The French consumer protection agency DGCCRF has handed out a fine of \u20ac150,000 (\u00a3126,342\/$171,522) to Global Service Concierge and its parent company, WSI Live, for misleading resale practices.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feat-alliance.org\/2022\/02\/08\/french-consumer-protection-agency-dgccrf-hands-down-e150000-in-fines-for-misleading-ticket-resale-practices\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Face-Value European Alliance for Ticketing<\/a> (FEAT), Direction G\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la Concurrence, Due la Consommation et de la R\u00e9pression Des Fraudes (DGCCRF) has fined the two companies, which operate\u00a0live-booker.fr\u00a0and\u00a0next-concert.com.<\/p>\n<p>Following an investigation, it was found that the websites were offering resale tickets without the authorisation of the promoters. This is illegal in France under Article 313-6-2 of the French Criminal Code.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2020, Global Services Concierge was also ordered to compensate live industry association, Prodiss, \u20ac100,000 for infringing anti-scalping legislation.<\/p>\n<p>FEAT, which is focused on anti-ticket touting, recently launched its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2022\/01\/20\/feat-launches-new-guide-on-dealing-with-touted-tickets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guide<\/a> for members and promoters on how to deal with and remove touted tickets.<\/p>\n<p>The guide covers the process of implementing an anti-tout policy, how to guide fans during on-sale and spotting signs of touting.
