{"id":772,"date":"2022-02-15T04:13:44","date_gmt":"2022-02-15T12:13:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/15\/sse-arena-wembley-undergoes-ovo-rebrand\/"},"modified":"2022-02-15T04:13:44","modified_gmt":"2022-02-15T12:13:44","slug":"sse-arena-wembley-undergoes-ovo-rebrand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.goticketly.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/15\/sse-arena-wembley-undergoes-ovo-rebrand\/","title":{"rendered":"SSE Arena Wembley undergoes OVO rebrand\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>London\u2019s iconic SSE Arena Wembley has a new naming-rights partner, it has been announced today (Tuesday).<\/p>\n<p>OVO Arena Wembley is the new moniker for the venue, which has welcomed some of the world\u2019s biggest artists and performers over the years.<\/p>\n<p>Sustainability will play a major role in the new agreement, as Bristol-headquartered green energy supplier, OVO will work with arena operator ASM Global to achieve its goal of \u2018Greener Arena\u2019 certification from not-for-profit company, A Greener Festival.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, ASM Global will fund carbon-reduction and environmental initiatives with the hope of expanding the green ideals to all of ASM\u2019s venues.<\/p>\n<p>The implementation of these sustainable strategies will be backed by social responsibility platform, ASM Global Acts, which was introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theticketingbusiness.com\/2021\/10\/19\/asm-global-launches-social-responsibility-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, OVO completed its acquisition of SSE Energy Services, which also led to the rebranding of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestadiumbusiness.com\/2021\/10\/14\/glasgows-sse-hydro-undergoes-rebrand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glasgow\u2019s SSE Hydro<\/a> to become the OVO Hydro in October last year.<\/p>\n<p>The naming-rights deal for the OVO Arena Wembley was once again brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, which brokered the SSE agreement for the venue back in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>OVO\u2019s head of sponsorship and partnerships, Colin Banks, said: \u201cAt OVO, we\u2019re committed to establishing purposeful partnerships which reflect our commitment to make zero carbon living a reality\u00a0\u2013\u00a0not just in the home, but in the things we love doing too, whether that be going to a gig or a comedy show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why we share in the OVO Arena Wembley\u2019s ambition to help live entertainment in becoming more sustainable. It\u2019ll take time, but together, we want to identify meaningful ways through which to make lower-impact live events a headline act in their own right and working with A Greener Festival represents a very positive step on that journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>John Drury, vice-president and general manager at OVO Arena Wembley, added: \u201cASM Global is delighted to support OVO Energy on the renaming of OVO Arena Wembley. The live entertainment industry has endured a challenging couple of years, but ASM Global is now looking forward to a bumper schedule of events across 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we look to welcome more fans than ever before, we\u2019re working hard to manage the environmental footprint of our operation \u2013 one show at a time.
