The Brisbane Lions AFL Aussie rules team has announced the extension of its partnership with ticketing giant Ticketmaster.<\/p>\n
Following a tender process, Ticketmaster\u2019s partnership was extended for another five years to provide ticketing services for all of the Lions\u2019 men\u2019s and women\u2019s home games.<\/p>\n
The renewed collaboration hopes to attract new fans to the Lions, provide a commitment to ensuring ticket prices are competitive when paired with match day experiences, and provide value for money.<\/p>\n
Ticketmaster will further introduce its technology to the Gabba (pictured), home of the Lions, through the Virtual Venue solution, which allows fans to see the view from their seat before purchasing a ticket.<\/p>\n
The Lions also said that the introduction of all-mobile ticketing will help to reduce ticket scalping and fraud, and limit environmental impacts.<\/p>\n
The Lions\u2019 general manager of consumer Ben Kerswill said: \u201cIt\u2019s great to be able to extend our partnership with Ticketmaster with their world-leading technology, already seeing our crowds at the Gabba grow season by season.<\/p>\n
\u201cThroughout the pandemic, Ticketmaster has supported the return of crowds to the Gabba, with socially distanced seating, contact tracing and other measures to keep our fans and members safe.<\/p>\n
\u201cWorking with Ticketmaster not only gives us access to their in-house technology suite, but a range of certified partners has allowed us to get more people to the Gabba through innovative group and partner ticketing programs.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ticketmaster\u2019s managing director in Australia, Gavin Taylor, added: \u201cWe are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with the Brisbane Lions and to play our part in growing our beloved national sport, bringing the joy and magic of live AFL to even more fans.\u201d<\/p>\n
