ASM Global\u2019s corporate responsibility platform ASM Global Acts has launched a scholarship programme in the US that will offer awards totalling $50,000 (\u00a337,000\/\u20ac45,000).<\/p>\n
Recipients of the live entertainment and venue management company\u2019s ASM Global Stars scholarship award may also be offered internships to gain experience at ASM\u2019s corporate offices or at one of its venues.<\/p>\n
The application period opened yesterday (Tuesday) and will run until April 12. Successful applicants will be notified on June 6.<\/p>\n
During the first year of the scheme, scholarships will be awarded in states such as California, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
ASM Global said in a release that launching the scholarships represented an effort to level the playing field for anyone looking to advance their education and pursue career goals.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are incredibly proud to support students in our local communities by investing in their education and making college accessible and affordable and by offering career development opportunities for our future leaders,\u201d said ASM Global president and chief executive, Ron Bension.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur ASM Acts programme is committed to making a difference in the communities where we do business.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shauna Elvin, ASM Global executive vice-president, global human resources, added: \u201cThrough this programme, we hope to encourage and develop the next generation of team members who will lead our company to even greater success.\u201d<\/p>\n
