Savills sponsors The Watermill Theatre e-tickets in sustainability drive

The Watermill Theatre has partnered with real estate company Savills, which is set to be the regional theatre’s first e-ticket sponsor.

West Berkshire’s Watermill Theatre has made the switch to e-ticketing in a drive to be more sustainable, while also providing a contactless ticketing option for audience members following the pandemic. In 2021, e-tickets account for the majority of tickets issued by the theatre.

The partnership with Savills, which is part of a collective effort to promote sustainability, will see the real estate agent’s brand featured on e-tickets for all shows across a 12-month period.

A sample of shows for the coming year at the theatre include Our Man in Havana, Bleak Expectations, Whistle Down The Wind, Othello and Rapunzel.

Liz McLean, head of residential and director of Savills Newbury branch, said: “The Watermill Theatre is an iconic landmark in Berkshire that has a long-standing history in the community and we are so thrilled to be partnering with them on such an exciting and sustainable initiative.

“As a business, Savills is committed to achieving net zero carbon in its operation by 2030 and we want to support the theatre’s own environmental ambitions by sponsoring their e-tickets.”

Jo Bycroft, development director at The Watermill Theatre, added: “It is a great pleasure to welcome Savills UK to The Watermill Theatre as exclusive e-ticket sponsors. This newly created partnership brings together two highly recognisable brands, reinforcing our joint values and aims with environmental sustainability taking centre stage.”
