Bath Rugby to utilise Ticketmaster tech

Premiership club Bath Rugby is set to utilise Ticketmaster’s 3D Virtual Venue technology to offer fans a life-like view of seats at the Recreation Ground (pictured).

Virtual Venue is a fully integrated purchase experience and will assist fans on making a decision when buying a ticket on any device.

The technology will allow Bath Rugby fans to digitally preview 360-degree views and sight-lines, with real-time availability of tickets. Fans can also compare sections at the club’s ground before deciding on which seats to purchase.

Becky Pocock, head of ticketing and hospitality for Bath Rugby, said: “The new Virtual Venue technology gives a fantastic 360-degree look and feel of The Rec, providing the position and view from your seat and of your surroundings when making your ticket selection.

“The implementation of Virtual Venue has been an important and passionate project for our Supporter Services team. With 10 out of our 12 Gallagher Premiership home fixtures being sold out last season, providing this new feature will add to the overall supporter experience.”

Chris Gratton, chief operating officer, Ticketmaster Sport, added: “We’re very excited to be bringing our 3D Virtual Venue technology to Bath Rugby and allowing a showcase of one of the most unique settings in UK sport.

“This is an iconic stadium with an iconic city backdrop and Virtual Venue really brings to life how this technology can be used to showcase not just a venue and seats but also the unique settings for fans both locally and further afield to enrich their purchase experience.”
