Ticketpipe, a trade-friendly ticket agency for West End shows, is set to launch at the upcoming World Trade Market London event.
The company was created by travel industry veterans John Wales and Sean Sweeney, who were also part of the founder team behind Encore Tickets.
Ticketpipe will work with travel agents, tour operators, group travel organisers and tourism businesses to book shows for clients.
Wales told Travel Weekly: “Tourism to London is returning and those visitors want to experience the capital’s theatreland and see the shows they have heard so much about.
“But, during the pandemic period there has been a void in serving the travel trade. As a result the important business sector has not had the attention it needs so has not been recovering as quickly as it should.
“We understand the needs and working solutions that make it easy to book London theatre which Ticketpipe now provides.”
The launch of Ticketpipe at World Trade Market London follows work behind the scenes that led to agreeing primary agency status with theatres, and operating a number of groups, before officially opening for business this month.
In a LinkedIn post, Sweeney added: “Delighted to be officially launching Ticketpipe at WTM 2022, working again with John Wales. Re-connecting London’s theatre with domestic and worldwide travel trade, Ticketpipe will specialise in group allocations and special terms for theatre, restaurants, attractions, group rail and workshops.”
