Early July saw the return of TheTicketingBusiness Forum at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. It was also the 10th anniversary of the conference, which saw senior figures in the entertainment ticketing industry attend from across the globe. TheTicketingBusiness Awards 2022 also highlighted the successes within the industry.
TheTicketingBusiness Forum encompassed the theme of business as (un)usual as companies did their best to bounce back from the pandemic. ‘Doing more with less,’ was also a reoccurring theme.
TEG announced in July that it would be forming TEG Europe, bringing together its UK-based live entertainment, ticketing, venue, digital and data operations into a single integrated operation.
TEG Europe is based out of Bristol and London and comprises TEG Live Europe, which includes the former TEG MJR’s touring business; TEG Venues, which includes 10 owned, operated, co-promoted and programmed venues throughout the UK; indie and rock and roll nightclub brand Propaganda; ticketing platform Ticketek and Ovation, TEG’s data science and analytics business.
Rounding off July, StubHub announced the closure of its San Francisco and Shanghai offices by the end of 2022. The resale platform also said that it would be laying off the majority of the employees based in this location. StubHub said it would be focusing on its New York and Los Angeles offices going forward.
