K-Pop VR concert at SXSW
K-Pop group Aespa are set to debut their first virtual reality (VR) concert at this year’s South By Southwest (SXSW) festival. VR concert production and distribution company AmazeVR recently revealed that the 20-minute ‘Aespa VR Concert at Kwangya’ was chosen for the festival, which will take place in Austin, Texas in March.
Here Lies Love
Singer-songwriter David Byrne and DJ Fatboy Slim are bringing their musical ‘Here Lies Love’ to Broadway. The musical is based on their double album of the same name, which was released in 2010. It details the life of Imelda Marcos, the former first lady of the Philippines. The production will open this summer at the Broadway Theatre and will be produced in a fully immersive, mostly standing-room format. This is the same way in which it was produced at New York arts organisation, the Public Theatre a decade ago.
Billie Eilish Live at The O2
Due to overwhelming demand, 300 new cinemas have been added so that fans globally are able to watch the live concert film, ‘Billie Eilish Live at The O2 (Extended Cut)’. The concert film will now be shown at 2,500 venues across 70 countries and territories worldwide. The film is distributed by Trafalgar Releasing and will be shown in venues on Friday January 27.
DAZN Group’s future plans
DAZN Group, a sports entertainment platform, has claimed it is the highest grossing sports app of 2022. The app it utilised in 225 countries and territories. Part of DAZN’s growth strategy is to move beyond being a sports streaming platform to become a destination for sports fans to consume live and on-demand content, read news and analysis, purchase merchandise and ticketing, and utilise its gaming and betting services.
