Indonesian Marvel and Spider-Man fans have been left frustrated as ticketing platform Tix ID had to issue mass refunds due to a system error.
The day before Spider-Man: No Way Home is due to hit cinemas, some customers received notification that they had been automatically refunded for their tickets. More specifically, Tix ID had to refund customers that had purchased tickets between 9-10 December between 23:00pm and 04:00am.
In a statement on social media, Tix ID said: “Due to an error in our system, cinema tickets which you have ordered on December 9-10 2021, at 23:00 – 0400 WIB, we must refund.
“We are aware that this error causes disadvantages for Tix ID users. For that we apologise profusely. We are committed to be even better in the future.”
The statement also said that tickets for Spider-Man: No Way Home would be taken off sale until the system was fixed.
Tix ID also confirmed that other transactions are being carried out as normal and have not been affected.
Spider-Man: No Way Home stars American actor Zendaya and British actor Tom Holland and is released on 15 December in Indonesia.
