The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) Supporter Exchange, powered by Seat Unique, has gone live for buyers ahead of the opening weekend of the 2022 Six Nations Championship.
The exchange is the official resale platform of the WRU and fans will be able to purchase tickets for Welsh Six Nations home games.
The platform can be used by fans to buy tickets from those that are no longer able to attend fixtures at Principality Stadium, with the WRU hoping to encourage them to do so in a legitimate and regulated way.
“Our new Supporter Exchange Platform for Welsh rugby is up and running and already providing a vital service to clubs and supporters alike,” said Robin Sherry, Seat Unique’s chief executive and founder.
All sellers have to pass a two-step verification process to ensure the marketplace is a trusted and safe platform for buyers. The sellers will be verified via an email address when creating an account with Seat Unique, and must also be confirmed as the original ticket owner by providing unique ticket information.
Sellers cannot post multiple listings for one ticket, meaning supporters can purchase resale tickets with confidence. At the point of purchase, customers will be reminded of the face value price of the tickets and notified if similar tickets posted on the Supporter Exchange are still available directly from the WRU.
WRU commercial and legal director Rhodri Lewis said: “We are delighted to announce a sell-out for our first home fixture of the Championship, against Scotland on Saturday February 12.
“This is just what Welsh rugby and our devoted supporters need after two years of disruption to our events calendar and fixtures. We are looking forward to an incredible atmosphere at a sold-out Principality Stadium in the first capacity Guinness Six Nations fixture since the pandemic began.”
Lewis added: “And we would like to thank all those fans who have supported Welsh rugby by snapping up tickets. We look forward to putting on a safe and secure event worthy of their passion and dedication to Wales.
“For those fans who have missed out on tickets to see Scotland we strongly advise on contacting member rugby clubs directly or visiting our ticket exchange platform where some access may be available.
