INTIX brings digital ticketing to Dubai Sevens

Australian digital ticketing provider INTIX has entered the global market through its partnership with sporting event, Emirates Dubai Sevens.

The Victorian tech start-up worked with United Arab Emirates (UAE) digital wallet company, Back 9 Solutions, to provide over 85,000 digital tickets to attendees for the rugby tournament in December.

The move into the digital sphere has been accelerated by the emergence of COVID-19, with events opting for options that could incorporate contact tracing, capacity limits and contactless operations.

INTIX chief executive Alex Grant (pictured) said: “INTIX was able to show expertise, innovation and efficiency while managing the digital ticketing aspect of the event in the ever-changing COVID environment.”

Grant added: “It was great, and surreal, to be back in the thick of a major event. We were pleased to be able to provide a smooth and easy digital solution to such a renowned international event.

“The last two years have been a real challenge in Australia with many major events being cancelled due to COVID.

“We have been working with some clients in the UK and New Zealand for a couple of years now, but nothing internationally on the scale of the Dubai Sevens. So, when the organisers got in touch, I knew it was time to take the company global.”

Since its inception in 2017, INTIX has worked with Australian events such as Listen Out music festival, Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show, Melbourne Marathon, National Basketball League (NBL) and the Victorian Football League (VFL).

Building on the success of the Dubai Sevens, INTIX has events in the UK and the US, including BeeUFest in Manchester, which will feature a nostalgic performance from 1990s pop band, STEPS.

Grant said: “As a company that has been providing digital ticketing solutions for four years, it is clear that COVID has hastened the transition to digital ticketing all over the world.

“We look forward to continuing to work with our current clients and are once again expanding our team to take on more events of all sizes in Australia and across the world.”
